Harrington Site Services Company is a speciality construction company providing underground sewer and water utilities, plumbing, excavation, and demolition for new construction and repairs. We provide innovative solutions for general contractors on both public and private projects, and we provide trenching and excavation services to other subcontractors. We also partner directly with institutions and municipalities assisting their public works and facilities departments.
We keep an old fashioned attitude about work, and that’s that it needs to be done right. We are fully licensed and insured providing solutions to the most complex problems, especially those that others turn away. Having the right hands on the job makes a difference. The HSSC field team includes a strong combination of highly qualified licensed plumbers, trained union operators, and skilled laborers, and the project management and office staff to back it up. We are signatory with Chicago Journeyman Plumbers’ Union, Local 130, International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150, and Construction & General Laborers District Council and Vicinity. Our experienced crews are trained to work with local municipalities to bring sewer and water services up to and through out your job site.
Our Founder
HSSC Founder and President Charlotte Harrington has a long history of working in the design and construction fields, and has worked in all aspects of the business. After graduating from the University of Illinois in 1988, she started out as a drafter and worked her way up to interstitial and infrastructure detailer at a large design-build firm. She was responsible for coordinating all building trade design, to ensure that what the designers put on paper could actually be built. Moving to the construction side of the company, Charlotte learned her way around the City working as an Owner’s Representative for the Public Building Commission of Chicago, and serving on Mayor Daley’s task force for Green Building. She has spent the last 25 years recognizing opportunities within the construction industry and responding to the growing need in the Chicagoland area for higher quality civil and sitework contractors. She is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, Cummings project management training, and most recently the CASE (Chicago Anchors for a Sustainable Economy) program Charlotte brings together a strong team of professionals representing decades of experience in the construction industry. Together with her highly trained, qualified union team members, she leads HSSC with the philosophy that “a healthy infrastructure is vital to a healthy society.”
